The day has finally come, Season 1 Finals – Russia vs Austria. The dream of THE COMMISH has come to life. Even before the very first drop of the puck in the very first season of the Y&RTHL, Russian GM Harpov was convinced Austria would be a force in the league “Austria will be the dark horse of the league”.
Austrian Coach/GM is just happy to be in the position where he is right now; “We’ve worked hard to get to this point, we’ve had to go through the best teams in the league to get to the finals (referring to Belarus and Canada) we’ve also gone through the worst as well (referring to Nigeria – as the best offence to never score could also never beat the Austrian squad – unless it was in a meaningless game where the Austrian team let their Special Olympic Championship team play for charity against Nigeria and even then Nigeria didn’t look very fierce)
Regardless of the outcome in today’s Final (most are predicting a sweep by the Russians) even the hired “muscle” by Russia – yes Russia hired Sweden as their security for the festivities was quoted as saying “Russia will sweep”. This only burns the competitive fires even brighter in the hearts of the Austrians.
Hans and Frans can be seen all day today walking around in their Austrian jersey’s getting ready for the 4:30 showdown. Hans and Frans are still in search for some Austrian beer. When asked what they need the beer for they said “Arnold asked us to get it for some pre-game drinking, inbetween goals drinking, inbetween stoppage in play drinking, after each game drinking and after the series is over drinking” – THE COMMISH said that would be fine just as long as there is no drinking in the Austrian Team Bus which is still covered in dirt. As that goes against league rules and regulations – not to mention that’s just bad press.
Hans and Frans are also expecting record breaking attendance for the finals (that’s mainly cause of the beer and snacks that will be supplied due to low ticket sales during the regular season) With all the hyped surround today’s match up THE COMMISH will announce all the new expansion teams for season two.
Everybody better get their popcorn ready for the greatest game on plastic ice.
